A Good Fit for Two Local Businesses

Breakside Brewery was searching for a responsive banking partner that could support its continued growth. They found a team committed to personalized service, local expertise, and long-term relationships.

Just over a year ago, Breakside Brewery's owner, Scott Lawrence, was looking to connect with a local bank to build a long-term relationship.

First established as a single NE Portland brew pub in 2010, Breakside now operates five locations throughout the Portland Metro Area. They also have a taproom in Astoria, Oregon, and produce 30,000 barrels every year of their award-winning, innovative beers.

“While the banks we were initially with still had a local presence, our original contacts had left, and we didn’t have anyone to turn to if we had a new project,” Scott explains. “Finding someone that was easy to work with and responsive was my top priority.”

An Easy Relationship with a Personal Touch

Scott had a vision to create a gathering space for Breakside, which was a new concept for them. “I was introduced to Scott to see if we would be a good fit for the project,” says Andy Bennett. “What evolved was the development of a personalized banking relationship.” Andy assembled a banking team around Scott's needs, creating a relationship built on responsiveness, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the business.

How is this new partnership unfolding? “For me personally, it's important that the people I do business with are likable, and people I want to have a beer with. Andy and the team are those people.”
