What is Popmoney?

Popmoney is a service within Online Banking and the 1st Security Bank mobile app that allows you to transfer funds to another person using their email, phone number or bank account information. 

How do I register for Popmoney?

To register for Popmoney using a PC or laptop, log into Online Banking, click on Move Money then click on Pay People with Popmoney and follow the registration prompts.

To register for Popmoney with your mobile device, simply log into your mobile app, tap on the menu button, tap on Popmoney and follow the registration prompts. 

What are the different ways I can send money using Popmoney?

You can send money to someone using their email, phone number or bank account Information1.

How do I send money to someone?

  1. Log into Online Banking
  2. Click on Move Money
  3. Click on Pay People with Popmoney
  4. Select an existing contact or create a new contact
  5. Type in the amount you want to send
  6. Select a payment date
  7. Choose your delivery speed, either Standard (3 day) or Express (Next Day)
  8. Select the account to send funds from
  9. Type in a personalized message for your contact (optional)
  10. Review your transaction and click Send

How do I pick up money someone sent me?

  1. Receive a text or email informing you that funds have been sent to you
  2. Log into Online Banking
  3. Click on Move Money
  4. Click on Overview
  5. Locate the payment under Incoming Payments
  6. Select the account you want the money deposited to
  7. Click Deposit

Are there limits to the amount of money I can send?

Standard payments have a daily limit of $2,500 and a monthly limit of $5,000.

Express payments (if available) have a daily limit of $1,000 and a monthly limit of $3,000.

Is Popmoney free?

Standard payments are free. If you need to send an express payment (1 business day) there is a $2.00 charge per payment. 

When will the person I sent money to receive the money?

Your contact will receive their funds within three business days. If you need funds to reach them quicker, you can send them an express payment (if available) which will reach them within one business day.

If your contact does not pick up the funds within 10 days, the funds will be returned to you. 

Can I use Popmoney from a mobile device?

Yes, Popmoney is accessible through the 1st Security Bank mobile app on compatible Android and Apple devices.

Can I send money to people who don't use Popmoney?

Yes. When you send money to someone they will receive a notification via text or email that will contain a link. Once your contact clicks on the link, they will be prompted to input the required information needed to direct the payment to their bank account. Your contacts are not required to register for Popmoney to receive funds from you.  

Can I request funds from someone who doesn't use Popmoney?

Yes, however they will need to register with Popmoney before the transaction can be completed.
